| CraftyAlien began in the early summer of 2006 by designer Lisa Eberhart. After searching the internet for knitted amigurumi patterns with no results and a lot of frustration, Lisa took to the knitting needles to design her own patterns. Inspired by the latest trend of felted knitting, she designed her first pattern, Swat Team Kitties and released it in July of 1996.
In November of 2006, she finished designing the first three Backyard Critters patterns.
In 2009, she started redesigning her collections for the crochet community beginning with the most popular pattern, Swat Team Kitties and continues to release new patterns in both felted knit and crochet, as well as finished crafts for the less "crafty" crowd.
In 2011, CraftyAlien.com relaunched its website, bringing new features such as Reward Points redeemable for Gift Certificates and exclusive items, a mobile site designed for the iPhone, an affiliate program with the ability for affiliates to sell from their Facebook pages as well as reliable pattern downloads and a better overall design. |
